Custom Graphics *
A term often used out of context is 'graphic design'. Graphics are not photographs or clipart, they are images (text, colour, shapes etc) that have been created, not copied from somewhere else. A graphic design is the result of these graphics being placed in such a way as to create a specific design. The graphic design, logo, links and colour scheme of your front page creates the theme of the entire website and it is this theme that captures the viewer's attention and desire to navigate through your website for more information.
A logo is perhaps the most important promotional tool for your business. You may like to 'trademark' or 'register' it as well to make sure that no one else can copy it or take it as their own. Logos are very personal and it can take a long time and many designs to eventually decide which one best creates the image you wish to have for your business.
Several aspects need to be taken into consideration such as the shape and colour of your logo. Once that has been decided, your logo will appear on almost everything you do from letterheads to business cards, labels to signage, invoices, pens, clothing, calendars and more.
There are four principles to graphic design and they are: Contrast (difference) Repetition (using the same theme over and over again), Alignment (visual connection) and Proximity (placement of design elements). When all four concepts are applied to a design, it is far more effective.
